Hello All,
I am using one Power G5 and one Intel MAC with MAC OS X 10.4 , with a RAID0 set up consists of 4 hard disks in each.I have my own link aggregation program , using which i aggregated two 1GB ethernets (default). When i transfered a 10GB file between these machines through cross cables CAT 6 , using AFP(also FTP) i got a transfer speed of maximum 140 MB/s. But when i issued 4 seperate copies from different harddisks(without having any raid) , i got upto 200MB/s.When i increased the TCP buffers size (send/recv), i didn't get any improvement over AFP,but while using ftp i got upto 190MB/s on a single copy
itself. But i am getting 190MB/s only when i issue "get" from power G5 to iMAC.But in reverse case i am getting only 110MB/s. Each machine is having 2 dual core processors , and 1GB RAM in each.
In ftp , while using "put" command the performance is really lower.
It would be really helpful if any one knows the answer for such a behavior.
Thanks & Regards
Anees
