I'm not sure what's causing this... but it definitely looks like a
bug.

I'm using BPF and calling network IOCTLs... so I'm pretty sure it's
something in there, but I haven't been able to locate the exact
issue yet.
Any lurkers privy to the inner workings of the Atheros Airport driver?
Try applying this patch:
