I'm also using the intel compiler. Here's what I've found:

1. Define the proper symbols to use the proper functions:

-DMAC_OS_X_VERSION_MAX_ALLOWED=1040
-DMAC_OS_X_VERSION_MIN_REQUIRED=1040
-D__ENVIRONMENT_MAC_OS_X_VERSION_MIN_REQUIRED__=1040

2. Tell the compiler top use the proper SDK framework:

-F/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks

3. Tell the linker to use the proper SDK:

-Wl,-syslibroot -Wl,/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/

That should set you on course. I've had other problem with the generated object files crashing on load due to bad init function pointers, but that is a different thing...
