Thanks, but we have a workaround in the driver stack already if you use MSF=1 (probably the same you have - guess your best if it's BCD or not).
do you get an error when you set formatAsTime to 1??

I believe this is just a device issue which you'll have to take up with Plextor.
i have found this problem with many external (non-apple supplied) drives
