trouble copying and unmounting a new drive

Hi,

I have a custom kext based on the IOATAController class which is mostly working to the point where I can read/write data with dd and use "Disk Utility" to partition a new volume. There are two problems I am now seeing:

1/ Running "verify disk" in Disk Utility works fine. If I run "Repair Disk", it reports "The Disk Untitled 1 could not be unmounted". Indeed, I do not seem able to unmount the drive. Is there something else I should be supporting in the IOATAController class for this to happen?

2/ I cannot seem to copy files to the drive. If I copy on the finder, it reports "You cannot copy some of these items to the destination because their names are too long for the destination". The disk is formatted as a regular "GUID Partition scheme". If I try to copy on the command line, it reports:
"cp: /Volumes/Untitled 1/file.txt: Invalid argument"

Any thoughts?

Andy
