Not necessarily. In one case your daemon may be connecting to the
bootstrap window server service and in the other case connecting to
the login session's window server service.
Again I ask: Are you using 100% daemon-safe frameworks in your daemon?
And again we wonder: Have you read TN2083?
And again we ask: What are you really trying to accomplish?

If it is the case then it should not work when I reboot the system but
it works very well, even logging out does not terminate the daemon
process.

Sounds like you might be getting a connection to the window server.
Are you
using only daemon-safe frameworks as described
in <http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn2005/tn2083.html>?

Hi,
I am starting in root's process space and it starts also but logging
out is terminating the daemon process.
If I reboot the system then logging out does not terminate the daemon
process. Machine is iMac 10.4.11.
