kernel settings for networkings

  • Subject: kernel settings for networkings

I'm testing a server that handles 20k clients on 10.5.7
as well as a test harness that launches the clients.

What kernel settings should I tweak apart from the following?

kern.maxfiles=102400
kern.maxfilesperproc=40960
net.inet.ip.portrange.hifirst=30000
net.inet.ip.portrange.first=30000

It takes me 10 minutes to connect my 20k clients (30+/s)
on my 2.93Ghz MacBook Pro and I would like to go faster.

	Thanks, Joel
