I know this. But my problem is how to get log messages to /var/log/ipfw.log file instead of /var/log/appfirewall.log file.
Regards
Rajesh.

Hi Rajesh.
The file /var/log/appfirewall.log is not for ipfw. It's for the new application firewall introduced in Leopard. Leopard has two firewalls installed: ipfw and Apple's proprietary app firewall. The latter is not open source and not really documented, as far as I know.

Hi All,
I want my ipfw log messages to go to /var/log/ipfw.log file in Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5.*) instead of /var/log/appfirewall.log.
I appended following lines to /etc/syslog.conf file -
!-ipfw
!ipfw
*.* /var/log/ipfw.log
But I am getting other log messages to /var/log/ipfw.log file including ipfw log messages.
Does any body know how to control the IPFW log messages.
Regards
Rajesh.
