I cannot find any documentation on irda under OSX and also can you please link some kind of sample
application to file transfer using IrDA.
And some few questions in my mind, can you clarify please?
1. Irda(not serial communication) is currently supported in MacOS X.
2. Is latest Mac OS has missing few of IrDA component library which makes it not compatible to Mac OS, can you list those librarys.

There's not a lot support of IrDA anymore. The source was released, and it implements the basic
IrDA stack and hooks up IrCOMM to a unix serial port (/dev/tty.irda...). The other IrDA protocols
(IrLMP, TinyTP, et al), are not really available outside of the IrDA kext.
