Passing configurable parameters into a kext

  • Subject: Passing configurable parameters into a kext

Situation: I have a driver kext, and I want that kext's behaviour to be configurable over reboot. Is there a well-defined API for saving "preferences" that can then be loaded by the kext at boot time?

Obviously, I could write something that modified the driver's Info.plist properties or created a preference file somewhere, but I was wondering if there is an "official" way to do this?
