UPDATE…
Got this working by creating a symlink from:
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/OSX10.9.xctoolchain (Which is where the configure script thought /usr/bin/cc was located - but doesn’t exist)
to:
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain (which is where /usr/bin/cc is actually located)
Everything configures and compiles fine now. Thanks for the suggestions.
