I think you should join puredarwin project and work from there. There is no reason to start yet another one man project which will pass into oblivion soon.

puredarwin were working on cf replacement called purefoundation, you may join it as well.

And thanks for that, since there are already afterstep, window maker and gnustep; etoile based on gnustep.

Suggest to not put it and let the user set the desktop of her choice.
At best, the thing that community needs is not another distribution prepared by someone at own vision (gnudarwin i'm looking at you), but possibility to roll up a working iso consisting of just open components from opensource.apple.com and maybe few third-party open replacements for closed parts. That's what puredarwin project does, it's just the volunteers needed to beat the dust from it.

Works and even has some patches from puredarwin pips in tree, but I'd personally go with homebrew fork.

I know one big hurdle is CF(CF-lite) but of course not looking to redo Aqua from GNUStep or any other port, looking to lay x11r6 on top with XFCE desktop and go from there(macports should work built from source). I will as ASPL, BSD, GPL required make this Open-source, I'm really looking for help in build and porting opensource programs to build this. I have no name for this OS yet but as soon as I do I will have a Website Dev and upload everything to Sourceforge.
