I think you have a stale view of things. I'm not sure if that is
because we are behind in pushing things out to the Darwin CVS tree from
the Apple Internal one, or its just you.
Is there nothing left to do on the kernel (Not likely)

Just call me a "nobody" then. Actually, there are about a dozen of us
nobodies that commit to xnu on at least a weekly basis.
Any major bugs or such? Basically I just want to know how I can
help out. Sorry for the rather vague request. ;-)
Universally classified "Major" bugs get swallowed up pretty quick. But
one man's major bug is often another man's feature request. Search the
bug tracker for things that interest you and haven't been updated
recently. Send a message to this list saying you would like to work on a
specific one. At least, that's what I would do if I was you, wanted to
work in the kernel, and didn't have my own pet project that needed doing.
