Gak! I can appreciate the desire, I guess, but it seems much more
efficient to have the widget wait for a request, and *then* get
up-to-date information. With polling, your information is only as good
as the last update. You have to have a high frequency to assure that
the information you return is (more or less) accurate, and then you end
up paying that high price for the information.
