IMHO Apple is very forthcoming with all of the low level workings for
OS X, check here for info on HFS
http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn/tn1150.html
The search at developer.apple.com is very effective and finding
pointers to tech documents and other documentation for the internal
workings of X.

Hi,
I was wondering if there was some sort of whitesheet, datasheet,
whatever they are called, that explains how these file systems are
arranged,
Like for FAT, Microsoft released a PDF on how FAT12,FAT16, and FAT32
work, with diagrams and everything, explaining the boot sector and how
free space is kept track of and the directory structure.
Anything like this exist for Apples Filesystems? do they release that
info?
Thanks,
Matt
