Hi All,

Please help me out to locate the way to add my own display mode. Motive behind is to make current G5 machine support a new display mode.

The ability to override display capabilities exist to some extent but I am not sure if it is documented or supported by Apple for 3rd parties to do.

You will find some existing overrides under /System/Library/Displays/Overrides and they are xml files.

I presume you could create your own and install them under /Library/Displays/Overrides but I am not sure that is supported. What the bits, etc. mean can likely be understood by looking at Darwin source code.

If you cannot find the information you need (maybe others can give you more detailed information) and you need this working quickly try contacting Apple developer technical support for assistance.
