my first suspicion is that you're starving the kernel of mbufs by
holding that many.
Is there a way you can change so that you don't hold the mbufs, but
copy the data?
Wow. I didn't read it this way. I read what Russell said to mean that
after that much held and reinserted traffic it paniced. If he indeed
meant that he was holding that many then you're right.
