SafeBoot nke Loading...

Hi,
I really need to figure out a way to force my nke to load in a safeboot situation. I know that probably doesn't make much sense, but due to the unique purpose of our application it is necessary. The nke is currently loaded via a startup item. I understand that the nke will not be loaded by the system (even with OSBundleRequired set) unless it is explicitly asked for by a KE that is being loaded, such as an IOKit driver.
The bottom line is that our nke needs to be loaded anytime the system could access a network. Since safeboot loads the ethernet driver we need to be loaded then also. Is there anyway that the ethernet, or some network driver could me made dependent on our nke?
I would really appreciate some help in coming up with a workaround for this. What types of things are loaded during a safeboot? Could I manually load it using something other than a startup item? Can anyone think of any way possible to get an nke loaded during a safeboot?
Thanks, Russ |
