Are you looking for information about the internal implementation, or the external API?

o For the programming API I'd recommend the book "Programming Under Mach" (don't have a proper citation handy, I'm on a plane right now) and the documentation in the kernel source (xnu/osfmk/man).

o I don't have a ready reference for information about the internal structure, although I'm sure you can find something on the net. I can answer specific questions, but I don't have time to write an summary from scratch.
