Dear Cliff,

I have tried all the steps told by you and when I say 'p' to print the partition table, it shows the output as

Top level command (? for help): e /dev/rdisk2

/dev/rdisk2

Command (? for help): t

Partition number: 3

New partition type: MACOSX_MyContent

Command (? for help): p

/dev/rdisk2  map block size=512

   #:                 type name                 length   base     ( size )

   1:  Apple_partition_map Apple                    63 @ 1

   2:           Apple_Free                           0+@ 64

   3:     MACOSX_MyContent Apple_HFS_Untitled_2 16121776 @ 262208   (  7.7G)

   4:           Apple_Free                           0+@ 16383984

Device block size=512, Number of Blocks=16384000

DeviceType=0x0, DeviceId=0x0

But again if I list the partition map using ‘L’ it shows following output:

Top level command (? for help): L

/dev/rdisk2  map block size=512

   #:                 type name                 length   base     ( size )

   1:  Apple_partition_map Apple                    63 @ 1

   2:           Apple_Free                           0+@ 64

   3:            Apple_HFS Apple_HFS_Untitled_2 16121776 @ 262208   (  7.7G)

   4:           Apple_Free                           0+@ 16383984

Device block size=512, Number of Blocks=16384000

DeviceType=0x0, DeviceId=0x0

I think it only shows that partition type is changed but actually it does not set the partition type to new value.

Thanks,

Imran
