Hi Shawn,
I am basically looking for the mechanism of locking the I/O's at file
system level (VFS level) for a fraction of time so that i can copy out
the specific data block for achieving the block level Snapshot on Mac OS
X. And after initializing the Meta data for my module we will release
the IO (unlock) the file system. The same patch is available in Linux
LVM where they support Snapshot after applying the VFS lock Patch.
My basic intension is to see if this lock is supported by Mac OS X VFS
layer, if not how should we approach to write this VFS lock Patch in MAC
OS X Darwin kernel.
I am familiar with some part of VFS layer in Darwin kernel of Mac OS X.
Thanks in Advance.
