booting in console mode

  • Subject: booting in console mode

Hi,
I want to boot my MAC O X 10.3.7 on G5 in text mode
only, not in GUI mode.

I tried following things but it didn't happen.
1. I tried to modify /etc/rc file where I changed
SystemStarter-g to SystemStarter -v.

2. I uncommented the line in /etc/ttys
line
#console "/usr/libexec/getty std.9600" vt100
 on secure
and commented the
console
"/System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app/Contents/MacOS/loginwindow"

3.boot args is already set to "-v"

I think, this is not the right mailing list to ask
this, but what i want to do is i want to print the
kprintf() messages which are dumped to
/var/log/system.log

Inputs will help us a lot.

Regards,
Parav Pandit
