Including my Filesystem in DiskUtility Format Options

I placed our filesystem in /System/Library/Filesystems where it seems
to function fine for probing and mounting disks.
I made reference to an /sbin/newfs_ style tool in the same manner as
the /sbin/mount_ with nearly identical FSPersonalities dictionary as
is used by the Info.plist of hfs.fs. I thought that would be all that
would be required to list our filesystem as an option in the Erase
tab of DiskUtility, but it isn't showing up.
I can use the filesystem as an option to /usr/sbin/diskutil eraseDisk
or eraseVolume and it seems to work correctly. Also, if I supply a
dummy name for the format parameter to diskutil, the error message
lists my filesystem's name as a "Valid Filesystem".
Is there something else I must do to allow my filesystem to be in
DiskUtility's "Volume Format" menu?
Thanks,
Thane Heninger
