Right. But what are you going to do with this information? Most
people who ask this question immediately turn around and ask "How do
I do I/O to these blocks?" That's a much harder problem, and I think
it would be better if we resolved the hard problems before tackling
the easy ones.
What I need from you is an overall description of what your product
is trying to do. From reading your questions to this list, it seems
that you might have taken an early wrong turn (trying to use an I/O
Media filter driver as a replacement for a file system filter
driver), and are now very much lost. I'd like to take a step back
and ensure that you're on the right track before we push deeper into
the jungle.
I recognise that you might have concerns about discussing your
