I checked the archives and didn't find what I was looking for. I
noticed you provided some precompiled binaries, and there was much
discussion about building the 10.4 version of Darwin. I'm trying to
build 10.4.1 and I'm trying to compile everything from scratch off of
Apple's servers, mainly because this may some day ship to customers and
even for development purposes I want to be sure that there isn't any
third-party code getting put into my kernels. Not that I'm implying
anyone on the list would do such a thing...
All I really want to do is build a kernel from scratch. Surely this
must be a well-known thing how to do inside Apple, multiple kernels
must be compiled every day during development. A simple step-by-step
guide would be really welcome. I'd be happy to file a bugreporter
report about the instructions currently on Apple's site if that is what
it would take to get them fixed.
