Just a heads up. Justin is entirely correct, especially with respect
to "at least up through the currently released systems".
Kernel extensions are bound to break with future releases of Mac OS
X. If there is any way you can accomplish what you're trying to do in
user space, you will save yourself countless headaches and heartache.
Besides, stuff in user space is a lot easier to debug ;)

The list of interfaces known to the system is headed by "struct
ifnet ifnethead" (at least up through the currently released
systems). That might help.
