x86 mac firmware?

Months ago when the x86 mac announcement was made, the decision
on what to use as boot firmware seemed to be an open question.
Now that the machine is apparently released, what did it end up
being?  Normal old x86 BIOS, EFI, OpenFirmware?  Something else?
