Hi John, you have the passion and it's a good point but:
- XNU is not FreeBSD
- XNU is developed to run MacOS
- XNU is Apple
- Terry, Mike and a couple of people who answered you are authorities in Unix like world
- you act like someone who's just discovered that he can make noise with a guitar and questioning
John Mclaughlin on his technic...
- FreeBSD and other BSD system made a lot of mistakes in their
designs, normal at least those are playground project to test models
what you observe on FreeBSD maybe not the reality in the next versions
ask to Doug, Darwin model is a source of great inspiration and many stuff
will move in the same spirit especially regarding module API... I don't into
details but there are a couple stuff that has been decided and those things will break
some other old APIs
- now as you like to talk about NetBSD there are a bunch of stuff uncompatible with FreeBSD,
try to argue in the same way... or windows MacOS is not a part of BSD familly, as well as solaris
at least they share some histories
as I can understand you are the only criticable you made a hudge mistake in your design, and based
all your concept on fake assumptions, that's a really a big deal if you continue in the engenering
field you should question yourself really seriously, that 's the first skill to have
anyway Im alright with you on the landon lookup events inplementation is better than Rick,
but you know there is no flies on Rick, and the landon stuff is also highly criticable in various points
now what's the solution?
try to act as a profesional,
- I (John) made a design mistake how can I fix that? and if you want we can restart this thread from this point
sure there are also a bunch of points, but you wrong more then 95 %
for instance if you have to represent your familly for various reasons I do hope you will
do it in a different and mor accurate way.
Cheers!
