Thanks for the advise.  I installed darwinbuild and now am having troubles getting it to build IONetworkingFamily-46.  Is this the right place to ask questions about darwinbuild or should I post elsewhere?

In case darwinbuild can be discussed, the error I'm receiving is:

Garth's advice is indeed the way to go. Xcode to build the kernel is 
not.

darwinbuild is your friend (with many thanks to kvv and other 
contributors)
