It's more complicated than that, but please bear in mind that this is
a mailing list for questions and discussion regarding the Darwin
kernel, not Windows applications. You would be best off raising the
issue with Acronis, or any of their competitors.

That would be an incorrect supposition. Boot Camp works specifically
because the MBR is used to boot into Windows.
