I'll correct you again. While, the disk is indeed a GPT disk, a GPT disk
includes an MBR at the beginning of the disk called the Protective MBR.
In order for Boot Camp to operate, a real MBR is put in it's place that
maps the partitions in the MBR to the same partitions as the GPT. This
is indeed how Windows with Boot Camp is able to boot.
In order to see what I mean try these commands from the Terminal
gpt -r show disk0
gpt will complain about the MBR being suspicious because it does not
look like a protective MBR.
fdisk disk0
You will see a print out of the MBR mapping the first two partitions to
exact same partitions as the GPT partitions reflected by the gpt command.
Apple has added the ability to boot from an MBR into the firmware in
order to support booting Windows. If I recall correctly, this is not a
feature of EFI, but something that Apple added to the firmware.
While I can't help you with Acronis, the problem is not a missing MBR.
If Acronis is smart enough to notice that the disk is also a GPT and
then failing there's not much that can be done about that.
Sorry I can't be more help,
