Finder cache

Hi,
I have CIFS-like file system. During mount time for some reason I do not report the attributes of the root folder, meaning that an error
code is returned to the OS X and subsequently finder caches that information. Now,  when I am capable to reporting the information and
legitimate permissions are available on the folder, I am not being able to access the folder through the finder. It works perfect through
command prompt.  If I relaunch the finder (through force-quit), it then works perfect. Is there a way to avoid this behavior ? Upto how much
time finder caches information ?

Shailesh Jain
