yes I am certainly not doing,
exactly the same things, I could use an another way on Darwin than to
use device file,
but for me it's easier to debug what the client request and what's the
interpreter answer, and give me the opportuny to bring the stuff on
another platform, without rewriting all the client
interface/mechanism, at least only some design and concept are shared
with your app,

incremental openings

so something has change :) for the  last 7 years, whatever, did you
temporaly fix the problem by closing and reopening again, sounds like
could be messy to handle?
