You can get this by looking for BSDName in the IO Registry.

Hi all,
I want to get a list of all available interfaces and filter them
based on the name such as en0 myself. I have looked at the available
kpi and I see ifnet_list_get(), etc. What I want to do is basically
what ifnet_find_by_name() does internally, but I could not find a way
to get the name easily (e.g. ifnet_name() only gives me "en"). Is
there an easy way to access the full name easily?
Thanks,
-m.
