Hi, all
I'm a developer working on a multi-media application on Mac OS X. Our application is designed to run on all Mac PC/laptop including Mac Mini, iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air.
Now we have a problem on testing our application on MacBook Air. When the application runs about 20-30 minutes, the idle CPU usage decreases to 0%.
When I open the Active Monitor, I find the kernel_task consumes very high CPU usage, even higher than 100%. This causes the CPU resources for our application not enough to handle the multi-media tasks.
When I test other applications, such as QuickTime Player or RealPlayer, we find the same issue. kernel_task consumes high CPU.
I searched on the Internet, there is some solution, however, these solutions require user to install additional software or hardware, it's impossible for us to follow these solutions.
So I'd to know:
1. Is this issue for MacBook Air only?
2. Is this issue for all applications, or for some specific applications, such as multi-media applications?
3. Is there any solution that could resolve this issue without installing additional software/hardware?
I have updated Mac OS X to the latest 10.6.4 version, but this issue still exists.
Any help or information is appreciated.
Thank you very much.
David Wu
