Hi again,

just to clarify if anyone is interested.

I tried to look through the xnu source but didn't found any place
where ENOMEM is handled explicitly and changed to 0.

In fact a couple of days after I looked again and there it was - I wasn't looking sharply enough.

So __sysctl returns the status of the copyout to the oldp, after the sysctl handler has returned ENOMEM and if the copyout succeeds the user space call to sysctl(3) will also get a success, although the handler returned ENOMEM.

As this is an explicit check I believe this is the right behavior.
