Hi,
I'm not certain if this is the best place to post this or not, but the Singh book suggests this occurs in Kernel. I'm working with Yosemite 10.10.5 at the moment. Up until a few days ago when I was busy debugging things (handling my user diagnostic crashes) I could get into them after the fact rather easily. However now (seems like all of a sudden) my entire user tree is a .sparseimage file
What caused this? and how do I get my user tree back into a normal uncompressed? unencrypted? flat structure where I can just use normal unix commands to look at things?
I do not recall doing anything specific to turn this feature on. I see in my old singh book the hdiutil command lets me create a sparseimage.
Does the OS have a mechanism where under certain circumstances it takes this action?
Thanks
Gordo
