I just have to see how to make sure that global structure is uniquely seen by the relevant kauth callback, since there are quite a lot of them on the the system...:)
Anyway, this seems a reasonable approach!

In my experience there are usually few enough of these posix_spawn() and fork() calls in-flight at a time on a desktop system that a simple array with a spinlock and linear search is good enough. (Using the unlock-allocate-relock pattern in the unlikely event that your callback does encounter it full.) A hash table or other associative data structure is fine too, of course, with the usual trade-offs.
