Unless you've configured Bluetooth for your VM, it should not matter at all. What happens if you disable bluetooth altogether?

I don’t know why bluetooth comes into play, if at all, for any transport. But I can’t seem to get out of it, so it never get to the point where we should expect “Waiting for debugger connection < or whatever> “

Perhaps if you gave additional details, someone could help. A problem statement such as "I can't seem to get out of it" isn't very useful for diagnosis.

Is there any hack for this, so that I can have El cap, as a target ? When using Fusion 8.

What are your boot-args on the VM?

Else, is there a way to debug over thunderbolt using two physical machine? This is another alternative we like to have handy.

We don’t have any Firewire port, since these are fairly new Apple computers.

Thunderbolt <=> Thunderbolt isn't supported.

Thunderbolt <-> Firewire <-> Thunderbolt works.

sudo nvram boot-args="debug=0x146 kdp_match_name=firewire fwkdp=0x8000"

sudo reboot
