Never mind. It seems like the debugging is dependent on the KDK. 
I thought that just invoking lld <no args> should be able to find out the src/sym location for my kext. At least that was the case ( and I can blissfully ignore the xnu src). But for some reason I got bumped into it…

But once I have the correct version of KDK I am good…
