I was referred to the list by someone at the Genius Bar at the Tyson's
Corner Apple store. I did some digging on the list archives and found
Shawn's posting(s) about the CAC Reader application.
This is for my personal laptop so for most of the things that you'd use the
CAC for, I don't need, but in the near future, they are going to be locking
sites down to require a CAC to access them. Specifically for me, they're
going to be locking down Outlook Web Access.
I'm one of those that got the 2-DVDs with my Powerbook and didn't have the
Disc 3 that the Apple site said was the place to get the software. I have
the CAC Reader software installed on my Powerbook now, but when I connect
the CAC Reader (Litronic 215) to a USB port and insert my card, nothing
happens. The system doesn't seem to recognize that there's a device
connected and the CAC Reader app doesn't see the card either.
I'm trying to find out if there's something else I need to do that I
haven't. I got the obvious (to me) things. I'm not getting any support on
the gov't side...they're only supporting the Windows versions, so I'm on my
own.
Any ideas?
