I did not experience this when I upgraded to 10.4.2 (on 10.4.3 now)
and I am NOT using filevault.
PowerBook 15" 1.5GHz
I do know someone that bought a new iMac and had this happen when
they transferred user data from from an older computer via the
firewire link. Still working on this.
One thought, have you checked that the Keychain is unlocking
automatically at startup?

After upgrading to 10.4.2, everytime the machine boots up it asks for
the system keychain password... details reveal different things... one

On EVERY machine we've upgraded we get this, except for one (and the
only thing that makes it unique is that it uses filevault).
the only way to stop this annoying nag is to reinstall OS X, and then
install OS X 10.4.2 Combo fresh...
Needless to say, it takes forever, any ideas, or has anyone else
run into this?
