I have to agree with Tony,
It would be great to have a step by step set of instructions. I have a Powerbook G4 with a PCMCIA CAC reader (SCR 243) and I can only seem to view my certificates when I am logged in as the root user. I am running
10.4.4, and the help desk at SCB solutions won't help with Macintosh.
Any help would be great. Even if it is just a link to a previous thread.

I have it working on my iBook without any problems. I do not use the Activcard Gold software as 10.4.4 appears to support the keychain on the CAC card. I am using a SCR331 with the latest firmware update to read the CAC card. All I had to do was to plug in the card reader, insert the CAC card, launch Safari and go to
webmail.nmci.navy.mil. Once at the site, Safari asked what the PIN was for keychain (the one on the CAC card) once I entered it I was prompted for my NMCI domain, username and password and am able to see the OWA website.
RyanDoes anyone out there have step-by-step instructions for setting up Keychain Access and Browser settings to allow for the logging on to protected sites like
https://webmail.nmci.navy.mil so I can get my Navy Email from my Laptop. I presently am able to do so from my son's PC so I know the CAC card is working. Using Mac OS
10.4.4 and ActivCard Gold for Mac 1.2.1 software I am able to view the personal information and Certificates that are on my CAC card. The trouble starts when I try to access a protected website. The browser never asks me to select which certificate from my CAC card to use (as it does on my son's PC) so I assume that my browser settings are incorrect. I tried using Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer. After a lengthy discussion with Macintosh Tecnical support they said that the Safari browser will not support the DOD CAC card. Using Firefox, the tech rep was however able to get a screen that cued him for which certificate to use (which I can't seem to get). But, when I asked to compare my Firefox settings with his, he stated he was unable to give technical support for anything but Safari.
Please keep in mind in your response that my computer literacy is often just enough to get me into trouble. Step-by-Step or make sure these boxes are checked is about my speed.
Many Thanks in advance,
Tony
