Title: Procedure to Generate Bootable Windows XP Installer from Virtual PC 7 Disk
We have been successful in generating a bootable Windows XP Installer Disk using the Windows XP software that comes bundled with MS Virtual PC 7.
If you have a new Intel MacBook or iMac, this procedure will allow you to port your paid-for Windows XP software over to the new Intel Mac without having to buy another Full Install Version of Windows XP!!
PROCEDURE TO CREATE A BOOTABLE CD USING WINDOWS XP (PRO OR HOME) FOR OWNERS OF VIRTUAL PC WITH A THIRD CD CALLED "ADDITIONAL WINDOWS SYSTEM FILES"
(Contributed by Tony Francis)
- Take the i386 folder from the Virtual PC "Additional Windows System Files" CD and put it in a folder called XP-CD on your PC (c:\XP-CD).
- Using a full version copy of Windows XP copy all files (except the i386 folder) to the XP-CD folder.
- Get the WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe file from the Microsoft website and put it in another folder. Name the folder XP-SP2 (c:\XP-SP2).

- Slipstream the SP2 file into the XP-CD folder. It doesn't matter that your original is already a SP2. We need to do this step to get a setup.exe file. The procedure is explained here:

a. If unable to slipstream the SP2 file using the procedure on the above website use the procedure listed at:
- Burn a bootable CD from the content of the XP-CD folder as explained on the winxpsp2-bootcd website.
a. I Used WXPOEM_EN for CD Label. The other label names listed have not been tested.
b. Use the free functionality version of ISOBuster and also the demo version of Nero Burning ROM (latest version 7).
