Two unrelated items, but both relate somewhat to Federal
sector folks...
1) DoD PKI
My personal Powerbook running MacOS X (latest minor
revision) has several DoD PKI certificates (originally
supplied by Apple as part of MacOS X) in the Keychain that
have now expired. Lately, some signed emails from DoD folks
are showing up as "authentication failed" in Mail.app.
I suspect these two issues are related.
I suspect the fix is to download/update the DoD PKI
certificates in my keychain. I do not have a CAC. I also
am not able to connect my Powerbook using a .MIL domain.
Is there some way I can download/install/update
my keychain with a current set of DoD PKI certificates
from an ordinary (USA) IP address ?
2) Motorola SLVR L2 phone
This is now available from Cingular (in the USA)
and from some other GSM carriers. It is relevant to Federal
sector folks because it is a very thin, capable phone --
WITHOUT CAMERA. So one can take this phone aboard various
installations where cameras are prohibited.
This phone is not officially supported by iSync yet.
I have opened a RADAR case on this. I recently updated
that ticket with some workaround XML that I conjured up
(with some help from a different non-Apple mailing list).
I am hoping Apple will pick up my patch and include it
in their next iSync update. In the meantime, if anyone
here has a SLVR L2 and wants to get it working with iSync,
please drop me a unicast note off list.
Thanks
