*Normally* Mac memory is ECC, which is what usually adds to the expense. This isn't always the case from third party suppliers. But (c) is always a factor.


That said, I've always thought Crucial had good prices.

Actually, you wish to double check on what machines accept ECC memory and whether a given vendor selling memory for Apple machines is selling ECC memory. Normally Mac memory is *NOT* ECC, in the past PC memory was ECC, but only recently did any Apple machines accept ECC memory, the first was the Xserves and then the G5 Towers. I don't know about the Intel-macs.
