Title: Re: [Fed-Talk] Remove CAC ScreenSavor Script
Two things come to mind..

  1. Most direct, check the process list for a process “CAC”, with a card inserted check the process list and you can get all of the details.
  2. More hassle but if you want more details you could access the CAC keychain.

I am looking for some assistance here...  I have written the below script to notify users to remove their smart card and then load the screen savor app.  It uses Tigers built in audible alters.

The issue: I want to add into the script to only speak the statement if a CAC card is present.  Any ideas on how to detect if a CAC card (or if logged in by CAC) is inserted would be greatly appreciated.

Script

set theText to "Please remove your D O D smart card."

say theText using "Fred"

tell application "ScreenSaverEngine"

activate

end tell
