Hello,
A Mac OSX security benchmark (August
2005) is available at http://www.cisecurity.org/bench_osx.html
From the above document in
Section 1
"For security reasons, you should partition the hard drive in 2 or 3
sections, depending
upon whether or not you are planning to install and/or use Mac OS 9.
If you are going to use
Mac OS 9, partition the drive into three (3) partitions. You should
dedicate about 5 GB to the
Mac OS X Operating System (OS), and if you’re using Mac OS 9 the second
partition should
contain about 2 GB of dedicated space. The remainder of the hard drive
should be your
dedicated storage area."
Not sure about everyone else by my /System is two gigs, Applications is
7.5 and /Library is huge as well and with the growth in size of just
Apple Applications this makes no sense, let alone dedicated OS 9 space.
I still believe that the Corsaire docs are the best out there.
PS if the partition discussion doesn't turn you off the recommendation
to disable grab should
