Dave,
As an integrator of Oracle solutions on Apple servers in latin
america, there's a lot of opportunities with Oracle being deployed on
Mac OS X Server.
But Oracle needs to fix the 1GB memory limit they have in Oracle 10g
10.1.0.3 for their SGA (databases), a lot of customers will back out
of the Oracle/Xserve solution. What's the point of having a 16GB of
RAM Xserve if Oracle can only address 1GB of RAM to its dbs.
Besides that, Oracle and Mac OS X Server make an attractive couple.
Best,
Federico D.

Oracle Database 10g RAC with Mac OS X Server and Xserve RAID delivers
superior scalability and price performance.
Result: Rotech implemented Mac OS X Server, configured to deploy
Oracle Database 10g Real Application Clusters (RAC). Mac OS X
Server running on Apple Xserve collaborates with the cluster
technology in Rotech’s existing network to support the company’s
service-oriented architecture. Additionally, Rotech chose the
storage capacity and performance of Xserve RAID — Apple’s 3U high-
capacity storage — to effectively scale with its business.
Combining the price, performance, and reliability of Mac OS X
Server, Xserve, and Xserve RAID with the powerful, ubiquitous
Oracle Database 10g RAC, Rotech has achieved nearly 100 percent
uptime and saved $10,000 per cluster node
