Hello Margaret,
If you are having troubles getting the CAC cards to work on OS X 10.4,
might I suggest that you look at the guide I wrote up and is posted at
http://cisr/pub_techrep.html under the title "CAC on a Mac: Setting up a
DOD Common Access Card Reader on the Macintosh OS X Operating System",
NPS-06-009. You may find it useful.

Update information on Army NETCOM approval of 10.4.

Mr. Rodriquez,
Yes, the Technical Authority (TECHCON) you mentioned has been updated.
The
newest version is awaiting final signature. The latest version is
2003-005c.
With regard your question about using Common Access Cards (CAC) with
Macintosh OS X (10.4), we are and have been testing the CAC capability.
The
results are less than desired and very unpredictable. We are in an
early
draft of written procedures for the set up of a MAC OS X (10.4) with
CAC.
The email is still not working with encryption and digital signatures
which
is a major problem. We are still working on that.
I hope this answers your questions. I have included a Mr. J. Dolak on
this
message as he is the primary on the Apple testing. If you have any
further
questions, I will be happy to try and answer them or find someone who
can.
Thank you,
Margaret M. Bean
